All Seniors Foundation accepts preliminary volunteer and service-learning inquiries from adults age 18 and older in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Interests are reviewed against current charitable needs, coordinator capacity, role boundaries, scheduling, screening, supervision, insurance, safety, accessibility, and any school requirements.
Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee a volunteer role, service hours, school credit, client contact, a particular schedule, or employment.

Types of volunteer interest we may review
The following categories describe possible charitable service, not current vacancies:
Senior companionship and connection
An approved role might support conversation, structured activities, or check-in programs. It does not automatically include personal care, medication help, medical advice, transportation, money handling, home entry, unsupervised visits, or exchanging private contact information.
Technology help for older adults
A defined role may support basic device education or accessibility. Volunteers must not request or retain passwords, banking details, authentication codes, government identifiers, or account custody; make financial transactions; impersonate a participant; or provide cybersecurity guarantees.
Donation and supply support
Possible service may include sorting, inventory preparation, packing, event setup, or approved distribution support. Each assignment needs current tasks, a coordinator, accessibility options, lifting and transportation boundaries, safe handling, and a schedule.
Bilingual outreach
An approved role may use organization-provided materials and scripts to help share public information. Language ability does not automatically authorize professional interpretation, medical or legal advice, eligibility promises, or independent representation.
Senior events
Volunteers may express interest in accessible setup, welcome, check-in, materials, activities, or cleanup for a real event. An event role exists only when the event, coordinator, time, location, safety plan, and responsibilities are confirmed.
Professional skills-based service
Professionals may propose bounded charitable projects involving technology, accessibility, communications, design, operations, education, or another skill. Project approval, conflicts, confidentiality, representation, system access, insurance, and deliverables are resolved before work begins.

Direct senior contact, site access, schedules, screening, insurance, safety controls, supervision, and available capacity must be approved for the specific role before service begins.
Service learning for students and schools
Service learning combines a school's educational goals with genuine community service. The school determines credit and academic requirements. All Seniors evaluates the charitable need, current capacity, role, supervision, safety, privacy, and how hours or feedback could be documented.
A school proposing a repeatable service-learning project should use the School Partnership inquiry. An individual adult student seeking school-required service learning should use the Student Placement Interest form so the school, program, hours, and documentation requirements reach the correct review workflow. Adults seeking general charitable service may use the volunteer form below.
What happens before service begins
Depending on the role, the process may include:
- interest and availability review;
- a conversation about the current need and role boundaries;
- identity or reference checks through an approved process when justified;
- role-specific orientation, privacy, safety, conduct, accessibility, and escalation training;
- a written schedule, coordinator, scope, and hour-recording method;
- additional screening, insurance, or site requirements for higher-contact roles;
- a clear decision that confirms—or declines—the role.
Do not obtain a background check, health clearance, driving record, or other sensitive document on your own for the initial inquiry. If a real role requires it, an authorized coordinator will explain the approved process.
Volunteer boundaries protect everyone
Unless a specific approved role says otherwise, volunteers do not:
- provide medical, nursing, personal-care, legal, financial, or benefits advice;
- administer or organize medication;
- lift, transfer, bathe, feed, or transport a participant;
- enter a home or meet a participant alone;
- handle cash, bank cards, checks, passwords, identity documents, or valuables;
- access patient, donor, applicant, employee, or client records;
- promise services, eligibility, appointments, supplies, or outcomes;
- speak publicly on behalf of All Seniors without authorization.
These are baseline boundaries, not a complete policy for every future role.

Tell us about your general volunteer interests, availability, region, languages, and relevant skills. If your service is required by a school or training program, use the Student Placement Interest form instead. Do not include private identity, health, background, financial, or client information.

Frequently asked questions
Are volunteer roles currently open?
All Seniors accepts preliminary interest. A role is available only when a current charitable need, coordinator, safe scope, schedule, and capacity are confirmed.
Can I earn school service hours?
Your school decides whether the service qualifies. Use the Student Placement Interest form for a school-required service-learning inquiry. All Seniors can document hours only through an approved role and authorized process; hours are not guaranteed by the inquiry.
Can I volunteer directly with seniors?
Direct-contact service depends on the actual role, site, screening, supervision, privacy, safety, consent, insurance, and current need. This page does not promise direct contact.
Can I volunteer if I am under 18?
The initial program is designed for adults age 18 and older. A school or youth-program representative may submit a future partnership inquiry, but no minor placement is offered or promised through the individual form.
Do I need a background check?
It depends on the actual role. Do not submit one with the initial inquiry. If justified, an authorized coordinator will explain the approved screening process.
Can volunteering lead to a paid job?
No employment outcome is promised. Genuine paid openings are listed separately on Careers.
Can I volunteer in the San Fernando Valley?
You may state your preferred region and travel range. Exact location and schedule depend on a verified current role.
