Student inquiry facts

Who should submit a student inquiry?

This form is designed for adults considering:

• a school-required internship, externship, practicum, field placement, or service-learning experience;
• a project-based healthcare-support or nonprofit internship;
• a possible clinical placement that their school is prepared to support;
• community service connected to an academic program;
• a career-change learning experience with defined objectives.

If you represent a school, department, cohort, or training program, use the School and College Partnership inquiry instead. If you want paid employment, apply through Careers.

What to prepare before you inquire

You do not need to submit private documents. You should be ready to provide:

1. Your school or training program and current level.
2. The discipline or pathway you are exploring.
3. Your preferred term or date range.
4. Your expected weekly schedule and total required hours.
5. Your learning objectives or required competencies.
6. Your school coordinator's name and professional contact information.
7. Whether an affiliation agreement, evaluation form, or specific supervisor credential is required.
8. Whether the school describes the experience as paid, unpaid, credit-bearing, volunteer, observation, or another model.
9. Whether you can travel within Los Angeles or the San Fernando Valley.

Provide accurate estimates. A team member may request clarification before evaluating fit.

Clinical and allied-health placements

Clinical experiences involve additional requirements. They cannot be arranged solely between an individual student and All Seniors. Start by reviewing Clinical Placement Partnerships, then ask your school's authorized coordinator to participate.

Nurse-practitioner and other preceptorship inquiries must begin with the authorized school or program and the clinical-partnership review. This page does not represent an available preceptor, rotation, placement, or block of clinical hours.

Nonclinical healthcare and nonprofit internships

Nonclinical Healthcare Internships may include project areas such as billing and coding, health information, administration, communications, outreach, fundraising, data, and technology. An actual opportunity needs a named mentor, educational objectives, a defined deliverable, schedule, privacy boundary, and documented compensation or credit treatment.

Volunteer and service learning

Volunteer and Service Learning is for genuinely voluntary charitable service. Screening, safety rules, supervision, age requirements, schedules, and hour documentation vary by role. Volunteer service does not guarantee later employment.

What happens after you submit?

1. Receipt: You receive a confirmation that the inquiry arrived.
2. Triage: The team checks whether the request contains enough information and belongs in the student, school, volunteer, or employment pathway.
3. Fit review: Current capacity, geography, scope, schedule, school requirements, supervision, privacy, safety, and classification are evaluated.
4. School coordination: When needed, an authorized school representative is asked to participate.
5. Decision: You may receive a request for more information, a notice that no suitable opportunity is currently available, or an invitation to discuss a possible next step.

An interview, discussion, or document request is not acceptance. A pathway exists only after the responsible parties approve it in writing.

School credit, compensation, and hours

Your school—not All Seniors—decides whether an experience qualifies for academic credit. The fact that a school may award credit does not by itself decide whether a work arrangement is paid or unpaid. Compensation and classification must be resolved for the actual opportunity before participation begins.

Required hours are planning information, not a promise. Hours and evaluations can be signed only by someone authorized to do so under the final school/site arrangement.

Protect your information

The initial form asks only for information needed to evaluate the inquiry. Do not send:

• a Social Security number or complete date of birth;
• a driver's license, passport, or government ID;
• medical, vaccination, or immunization records;
• background-check or drug-screen results;
• insurance certificates;
• transcripts, licenses, or school dossiers;
• patient information from any prior placement.

If a real pathway reaches a later clearance stage, an authorized reviewer will explain what is needed and how to transmit it securely.
