Donate Electronics to Seniors

All Seniors Foundation refurbishes and donates laptops, tablets, and smartphones to older adults—helping them connect with family, doctors, services, and community. If you’re looking to donate electronics to seniors (laptops, tablets, smartphones), we make it simple, secure, and impactful.

About the Program

Our Donate Electronics to Seniors program places gently used, data-wiped devices with older adults who need them most. Every device is prepared with accessibility settings and a quick-start guide so seniors can use it right away. We prioritize recipients who rely on telehealth, transportation coordination, language access, and social connection.

  • Devices we place: laptops, tablets, smartphones, mobile hotspots, webcams, chargers, keyboards, and mice.
  • What we provide: secure data erasure, hardware checks, accessibility setup (large text, high contrast, voice assist), essential apps, and a printed quick-start guide.
  • Where we serve: Encino, the San Fernando Valley, and Greater Los Angeles (contact us for other areas or mail-in options).

How It Works

  1. Donate — Use the form below to tell us what you have and schedule drop-off or pickup. We’ll confirm the make/model and condition, and provide an itemized receipt for your records.
  2. Refurbish — We perform industry-recognized data wiping (e.g., NIST 800-88 methodology), replace worn parts when feasible (batteries/chargers), update the operating system, and install senior-friendly tools (video visits, messaging, safety settings).
  3. Match & Deliver — Devices are matched to seniors based on need and preferences (e.g., larger screen, language settings). We deliver or ship the device and offer a brief one-on-one tutorial.
  4. Support — Each recipient receives a follow-up Tech Buddy session (phone or in-person), access to group workshops, and tips for online safety and scam awareness.

For Donors & Corporate Partners

We welcome donations from households, small businesses, retailers, and IT asset managers. Bulk donations are encouraged—inventory templates and data-destruction confirmations are available on request. For 20+ devices in Greater Los Angeles, limited on-site intake may be available by appointment.

Accepted Devices (guidelines)

  • Laptops/desktops that can run Windows 10/11 or macOS 10.15+ and power on reliably.
  • Tablets (iPad 6th gen+ / Android 9+) and smartphones (iPhone 8+ / Android 9+) with clear screens and working batteries.
  • Working webcams, LTE hotspots, chargers/power adapters, keyboards, and mice.

We’re Unable to Accept

  • Broken, swollen-battery, or water-damaged items.
  • CRTs, large printers, or obsolete accessories and cables.
  • Locked or password-protected devices we cannot reset, or devices with activation locks.

Security & Privacy

  • Certified data wiping: We use recognized data-sanitization methods (e.g., NIST 800-88) and can provide a confirmation upon request.
  • Secure handling: Devices are tracked from intake to placement; storage areas are restricted.
  • Chain of custody: For bulk/corporate donors, we can document serial numbers and disposition outcomes.

Receipts & Documentation

All donors receive an itemized receipt from All Seniors Foundation with device descriptions and quantities. For higher-value gifts, speak with a tax advisor about appraisal requirements and charitable contribution forms; we can supply acknowledgments and, when applicable, data-wipe confirmations. (We don’t assign monetary values.)

Packing & Pickup Tips

  • Include power adapters and any compatible accessories when possible.
  • Remove SIM cards and memory cards; sign out of cloud or activation locks (Apple ID/Google/Microsoft) and turn off “Find My.”
  • For bulk donations, use a simple spreadsheet (make/model/serial/condition). We can provide a template.

For Seniors & Family Caregivers

Need a laptop, tablet, or smartphone for an older adult? Devices are provided at no cost, subject to availability. We prioritize seniors with limited access to technology or internet, those managing chronic conditions, and caregivers supporting home-based care.

Eligibility (guidelines)

  • Older adult (typically 60+) or a caregiver applying on their behalf.
  • Limited access to technology or internet service, or a device that no longer meets needs.
  • Resides in Encino, San Fernando Valley, or Greater Los Angeles (case-by-case elsewhere; shipping may be available).

What’s Included

  • Configured device with accessibility features (larger fonts, high contrast, voice assist, simplified home screen).
  • Quick-start guide, a starter tutorial (telehealth, messaging, photos), and tips for online safety.
  • Follow-up Tech Buddy session and optional group workshops; limited phone support hours.

Connectivity Assistance

We help recipients explore affordable internet options, set up Wi-Fi, or use mobile hotspots when available. We also share guidance on video visits, patient portals, ride-share apps, and community resources.

Good for Seniors, Good for the Planet

Refurbishing extends a device’s life and keeps e-waste out of landfills. If a donation can’t be placed, we responsibly harvest usable parts or route it to certified e-waste partners. Our goal is to maximize reuse first, then recycle responsibly.

Quality & Safety Standards

  • All devices power on, charge, and pass basic hardware checks.
  • Batteries meet safe-use thresholds or are replaced when feasible.
  • Operating systems are updated, default privacy settings are reviewed, and essential security patches are applied.

Service Area

We currently serve Encino, the San Fernando Valley, and Greater Los Angeles. For pickups outside these areas, contact us—regional partnerships and mail-in options may be available.
