Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper – Keep Nonprofit Finances Audit-Ready

Every service is delivered at no cost, regardless of insurance status.
Role Overview:
As Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper, you will maintain financial records for our 501(c)(3) nonprofit including grant tracking, donor accounting, payroll reconciliation, and audit preparation. You will work closely with the CFO/Treasurer and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger, AP/AR, and bank reconciliations using QuickBooks or Sage Intacct
- Track restricted vs. unrestricted funds; allocate expenses across grants and programs
- Process payroll, contractor 1099s, and benefit deductions
- Prepare monthly financial reports for leadership and the Board of Directors
- Support annual Form 990 preparation and independent audit
- Reconcile donor management system (DonorPerfect, Salesforce NPSP) with accounting records
Qualifications:
- 2+ years bookkeeping or staff-accountant experience; nonprofit fund accounting a plus
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or Sage Intacct
- Strong attention to detail and Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Familiarity with GAAP and nonprofit accounting (FASB ASU 2016-14)
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related
