Role Overview:
The Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship Coordinator will oversee the development and administration of a pioneering preceptorship program designed to provide NP students and interns with exceptional clinical training opportunities. This critical role requires a seasoned nurse practitioner with expertise in geriatric care and a dedication to mentorship, ensuring the program aligns with our mission to enhance senior healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage a complimentary preceptorship program tailored to NP students focusing on senior healthcare.
- Recruit, onboard, and guide a network of qualified preceptors within the Los Angeles healthcare community.
- Facilitate student-preceptor pairings and monitor clinical placements to ensure program efficacy.
- Collaborate with academic institutions and healthcare partners to promote the initiative and expand its reach.
Qualifications:
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification and valid California licensure (MSN or DNP required).
- At least five years of clinical experience as an NP, preferably in geriatrics or senior care.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional mentorship and advancing healthcare education.

What to Expect on the Job
You’ll have full scope of practice within California guidelines: conducting comprehensive assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, prescribing medications, and serving as the primary care provider for medically complex elderly patients. Most visits happen in the patient’s home, giving you context most office-based practitioners never see.
