Phlebotomist / Lab Assistant Job at NPMD in Los Angeles

What you will do

  • Label, organize, and prepare specimens accurately according to clinic workflow.
  • Maintain clean supplies, draw stations, forms, and lab-related materials.
  • Coordinate with front desk, medical assistants, providers, and outside lab processes as assigned.
  • Document collection details and communicate issues quickly when a specimen or patient concern needs attention.
  • Follow infection-control, sharps-safety, and privacy practices.

Required qualifications

  • California phlebotomy certification preferred or required depending on assigned duties.
  • Prior phlebotomy, lab assistant, medical assistant, or specimen-handling experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, clean technique, and patient communication.
  • Comfort working with older adults and patients who may be anxious, dehydrated, or difficult to draw.

Preferred strengths

  • Experience with geriatric patients or high-volume clinic lab flow.
  • Knowledge of specimen labeling, handling, and transport basics.
  • Bilingual language skills helpful.
