Role Overview:
As Mobile Phlebotomist, you will conduct blood draws and specimen collection in seniors’ homes throughout Los Angeles County. You will eliminate the burden of lab visits for homebound elders and make routine monitoring possible for those who would otherwise skip it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct venipuncture and capillary draws in seniors’ homes following physician orders
- Properly label, store, and transport specimens to partner laboratories within stability windows
- Maintain mobile phlebotomy equipment, supplies, and biohazard disposal per OSHA standards
- Build rapport with elderly patients — many of whom are anxious, dehydrated, or have difficult veins
- Document each draw in our EHR including any complications or specimen issues
- Coordinate scheduling with our central dispatcher to optimize routes across LA County
Qualifications:
- Current CA Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT1 or CPT2)
- Valid CA driver’s license + reliable insured vehicle
- 1+ year venipuncture experience; geriatric or home-visit a plus
- Patience and gentleness with elderly patients; ability to work with fragile or rolling veins
- OSHA bloodborne-pathogen and HIPAA training
