Role Overview:
As a Geriatric Psychiatric Nurse, you will evaluate mental health symptoms, collaborate with psychiatric providers, administer treatments, and educate families on managing challenging behaviors. Your compassionate approach helps create a nurturing home environment for seniors experiencing mental health concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients for psychiatric symptoms, cognitive changes, and emotional distress.
- Implement care plans, assist with medication administration, and monitor side effects.
- Communicate with psychiatrists, therapists, and caregivers to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Educate families on supporting seniors’ mental health needs at home.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse license in California with mental health nursing experience.
- Familiarity with geriatric psychiatric conditions and interventions.
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and assessment skills.
