We provide medical care, in-home support, hospice and palliative care, cancer navigation, and 200+ other free services to qualifying seniors. Every service is delivered at no cost, regardless of insurance status.

Role Overview:

As Bilingual Spanish Patient Advocate, you will serve as the trusted point of contact for Spanish-speaking older adults navigating Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, and other care benefits. You will translate, advocate, and walk families through complex healthcare decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments with Spanish-speaking seniors and families to understand care needs
  • Translate between English-speaking staff and Spanish-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations
  • Help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate
  • Document interactions in our case-management system and follow up on open issues
  • Build trust with Spanish-speaking communities through outreach at churches, community centers, and senior housing

Qualifications:

  • Native or near-native fluency in Spanish AND English (oral and written)
  • Experience working with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services
  • Cultural competency with Latinx, Hispanic, and immigrant senior communities in LA
  • Strong empathy, patience, and ability to explain complex topics in plain language
  • High school diploma; bachelor’s in social work, public health, or related preferred
