Need Help With IHSS in Los Angeles?
All Seniors Foundation helps older adults, caregivers, case managers, and healthcare providers organize IHSS questions, prepare practical information, and connect related senior support needs.
IHSS can feel confusing when a senior suddenly needs more help at home. We help families slow the process down, understand what to ask, and connect IHSS questions with transportation, supplies, care coordination, and placement planning when appropriate.

Organize the right questions
We help families prepare for calls, assessments, notices, and follow-up conversations with the county or care team.
Connect related support
IHSS may be one part of a larger plan that includes transportation, supplies, home health, care coordination, or placement guidance.
Know what we do not control
County and state agencies handle IHSS eligibility, decisions, reassessments, provider rules, and authorized hours.
When This Service Is Useful
- A senior needs help at home with bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, housekeeping, appointments, or supervision.
- A family is trying to understand whether IHSS, home health care, private care, or placement support fits the situation.
- The senior has an IHSS application, reassessment, county notice, denial, approval, or hours decision that needs careful review before the next call.
- A discharge planner, case manager, social worker, or family caregiver needs a senior-friendly support path.
- Care needs changed after a hospital stay, rehab stay, fall, surgery, diagnosis, medication change, or caregiver change.
What to Prepare Before Calling
You do not need a perfect file before calling us. A short list is enough to start. If available, gather:
- The senior’s city or neighborhood in Los Angeles County.
- Whether the senior has Medi-Cal or has a Medi-Cal application in progress.
- Any IHSS case number, county notice, reassessment letter, denial, approval, or authorized-hours notice.
- A simple description of daily living needs, including bathing, dressing, toileting, meals, laundry, cleaning, mobility, medication reminders, transportation, and supervision.
- Recent hospital, emergency room, rehab, skilled nursing, surgery, fall, diagnosis, or discharge details.
- Names of doctors, social workers, discharge planners, case managers, family contacts, or current caregivers.
