About This Smoking Cessation Study

Every year, over 480,000 Americans die from smoking-related causes, making it the leading cause of preventable death. If you’re ready to quit smoking, our clinical trial offers a unique opportunity to receive cutting-edge treatment, professional support, and compensation while contributing to research that could help millions quit successfully.

Study Overview

This 12-week Phase 3 clinical trial is testing a new prescription medication designed to reduce nicotine cravings and withdrawal symptoms more effectively than current treatments. The medication works by blocking nicotine receptors in the brain while simultaneously reducing the pleasure derived from smoking, making it easier to quit and stay quit.

What Makes This Different

Unlike going it alone or using over-the-counter products, you’ll receive:

  • Triple Support System: Medication, nicotine replacement therapy, and behavioral counseling
  • Personalized Quit Plan: Tailored to your smoking triggers and lifestyle
  • Medical Monitoring: Regular health checks to track your progress and manage symptoms
  • Financial Incentive: Earn money while improving your health
  • No Cost Treatment: All medications and support provided free (value over $1,500)

Your 12-Week Journey to Freedom

Weeks 4-8: Adjustment Phase

Weekly visits for medication adjustment, craving management, and behavioral support. Carbon monoxide breath tests to verify smoking status (no judgment for slips). Compensation: $100 per visit + $400 bonus at week 8

Weeks 9-12: Maintenance Phase

Continued weekly support as you solidify your smoke-free lifestyle. Focus on relapse prevention and long-term success strategies. Compensation: $100 per visit + $500 completion bonus

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about participating in our clinical trial

Do I have to quit smoking immediately?

No, you don't quit right away. The first 2 weeks involve tracking your normal smoking habits. Your official "quit date" is set for Week 3, giving you time to prepare mentally and physically with our support team's guidance.

What if I relapse during the study?

Relapses are common and expected - they don't disqualify you from the study. We track all quit attempts, and you'll still receive full compensation for completing all visits. Our counselors will help you get back on track without judgment.

Will I experience withdrawal symptoms?

Some withdrawal symptoms are normal when quitting smoking. The study medication is designed to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. You'll also receive nicotine patches or gum to help manage symptoms, and our team provides 24/7 support.

How much do I actually get paid?

You receive $150 for the screening visit, $100 for each of the 10 study visits ($1,000 total), plus bonuses: $300 at week 4, $400 at week 8, and $500 for completing the study. Additional $250 if you're smoke-free at week 12 (verified by breath test).

Can I use vapes or e-cigarettes during the study?

No, the study requires abstaining from all nicotine products except those provided by the study (patches/gum). This includes vapes, e-cigarettes, cigars, and smokeless tobacco. We'll help you quit all nicotine products, not switch to alternatives.
