Role Overview:
As a Dementia Care Specialist, you will provide personalized, evidence-based interventions and support strategies for seniors with dementia. Working closely with families and caregivers, you’ll implement activities, communication techniques, and environmental modifications that promote well-being and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized care plans addressing cognitive and behavioral needs.
- Train caregivers and family members in effective communication and therapeutic activities.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions to maintain engagement and reduce anxiety.
- Collaborate with social workers, nurses, and therapists to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with best practices.
Qualifications:
- Background in gerontology, social work, nursing, or occupational therapy.
- Experience working with patients who have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of evidence-based dementia care interventions and techniques.
